Kapil Sharma’s Canadian Cafe Attacked in Targeted Shooting Claimed by Khalistani Terrorist
In a shocking incident, comedian Kapil Sharma’s newly opened cafe in Surrey, Canada, came under fire late Wednesday night after at least nine gunshots were fired at the establishment. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The attack, which occurred just days after the soft launch of Kap’s Cafe, was caught on camera. The video shows a man firing multiple rounds from a parked car at the cafe’s glass window.
The Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi, associated with Babbar Khalsa International, has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack. Authorities believe the shooting was in retaliation to a past comment made by Sharma that allegedly offended pro-Khalistan supporters.
High-Profile Target
Kapil Sharma, one of India’s most popular entertainers, launched the cafe along with his wife Ginni Chatrath as a business venture in British Columbia. The incident has raised serious concerns around the safety of Indian-origin entrepreneurs and public figures abroad.
Investigation Underway
Canadian police and forensic teams were quick to respond and have begun a full-scale investigation. Local security agencies are working with India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA), which already has Laddi on its most-wanted list.
Laddi is also a prime suspect in the April 2024 murder of VHP leader Vikas Prabhakar (alias Vikas Bagga) in Punjab’s Rupnagar district. Officials have confirmed his close ties with extremist elements operating across international borders.
