Bhopal Horror: Man Strangles Live-In Partner in Jealous Rage, Sleeps Beside Body for Two Days
In a deeply disturbing incident from Bhopal’s Gayatri Nagar, a 32-year-old unemployed man strangled his live-in partner to death in a fit of jealousy — then spent two days in the same room with her decomposing body, wrapped in a blanket.
The victim, 29-year-old Ritika Sen, was reportedly killed on the night of June 27 by Sachin Rajput, who suspected her of being involved with her employer. Sachin, who remained jobless while Ritika worked at a private firm, allegedly flew into a rage during a heated argument and strangled her.
Instead of reporting the crime, Sachin stayed in the house, sleeping next to the body and drinking heavily.
According to police, he finally confessed to the crime on Sunday to a friend, Anuj, who initially dismissed it as drunken rambling. But when Sachin repeated the confession on Monday, Anuj alerted the police.
Officers from Bajaria Police Station arrived at the scene to find Ritika’s body, just as described—wrapped in a blanket, decomposing on the bed.
Police Station in-charge Shilpa Kaurav revealed that Sachin was already married and has two children. The couple had been living together for over three years. The rented house in Gayatri Nagar had been their residence for the past nine months.
