Victim:

Pritam Prakash (42) – History-sheeter from Alipur with over 10 criminal cases, including under the Arms Act, NDPS Act, and various IPC sections; declared a proclaimed offender by the court.

📅 Timeline of Events

July 5, 2024:
Pritam went to Sonipat’s Gannaur to pick up Soniya from her sister’s home. After an argument, he left, but later returned seeking reconciliation.
That same day, Soniya allegedly offered ₹50,000 to her sister’s brother-in-law, Vijay, to kill Pritam.
Night of July 5, 2024:
While Soniya slept on the terrace, Vijay allegedly murdered Pritam and dumped his body in a drain near Agwanpur. Vijay reportedly sent Soniya a video of the body on social media before deleting it.
July 20, 2024:
Soniya lodged a missing complaint, claiming her husband never returned after going out. Police initially treated it as a routine missing case.

🔍 Breakthrough in Investigation

Months later, police noticed no financial or digital activity linked to Pritam. Surveillance on his mobile number, which became active again after nearly a year, traced it to Rohit in Sonipat.
Rohit was interrogated and eventually confessed that he and Soniya were in a relationship and had plotted the killing, with Vijay carrying out the murder.

🧾 Additional Findings

Haryana Police had recovered an unidentified male body around the same time, which remained unclaimed. DNA samples from that body will now be matched with Pritam’s family.
Soniya reportedly sold Pritam’s auto-rickshaw for ₹4.5 lakh and gave his mobile phone to Rohit.
The couple, Soniya and Pritam, had married against family wishes when she was 15 and had three children together.
Rohit has a criminal history, including cases of murder and arms possession, and got married in April 2025 while maintaining his affair with Soniya.
