Gunfight Erupts Between Security Forces and Militants in J&K’s Kishtwar Forest Region
A fierce encounter broke out between terrorists and security personnel in the densely forested Kuchal area of Chatroo in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on Wednesday evening, officials confirmed.
Acting on credible intelligence inputs, a joint team of the police, Indian Army, and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the region. As the forces advanced, the terrorists opened fire, triggering a retaliatory gunfight.
Officials stated that the exchange of fire was ongoing at the time of the last update. Additional reinforcements have been dispatched to ensure the area remains tightly sealed and to neutralize the hiding terrorists.
